The new XT250 Rear Luggage Rack does double duty. First it provides a 
generous platform for a carry bag. Second it provides a mounting
platform to attach side guard supports which are needed to attach additional side bags luggage. Fits 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012.
The second image shows both the Rear Rack with XT250 Saddlebag Support Bars installed. 
Side guard supports can be mounted on either side of the bike attached to the rear rack. These guards keep your sidebag luggage from resting against a hot exhaust pipe.

Hi. I've been looking at your square rack for the XT250, it looks great. I'm interested in the side bag racks also,..... but do you have/sell any bags for it?

The square tube rack is set up to take the side guard supports and you are right this is what is needed before adding side bags. At the moment, Yamaha does not offer bags for this bike... but we are working our contacts to see if we can get them.
Taking another look at the side 'guard'. ... it is more of a GUARD or can you attach/strap bags to it?
I'm concerned as there is not 'bottom' on the rack to hold bags or have them 'rest' on the bottom of the rack.
Is that an issue here, something I should be concerned with?
